Tugun for longer stays and remote work
A fair number of our guests stay for weeks rather than nights: people working remotely, families between houses, couples wintering up from the south. Tugun suits a routine. Here is why, and how we set it up.

A town built for walking
Everything a week needs is within five minutes on foot: two supermarkets open from 6am, a greengrocer, a bottle shop, cafés from 5am and dinner seven nights. The beach is in front of the building and the surf club 50 metres along it. You can go a month without starting a car, and many guests do.
The apartment as a home
Every apartment is fully self-contained: a proper kitchen with an espresso machine, a dining table that takes a laptop, a living room, separate bedrooms, and your own laundry with a dryer. Free Wi-Fi and air conditioning throughout, with a smart TV. The Premium Ocean View apartment on the top floor adds a six-stage filtered water tap and a 55-inch 4K television, and the best view in the building to work in front of. The 1 Bedroom suits one person; the 2 Bedrooms give a couple a bedroom and an office.
A working day here
Swim at the flags at six, coffee at Taste & Co at five past, work through the morning with the ocean in the window, lunch on Golden Four Drive, and finish in time for the 4pm lorikeets up the road or the Alley on an incoming tide. The time zone puts you ahead of most of the world's mornings, which suits early calls.
Getting around without a car
The 700 bus runs frequently along the highway to Burleigh and the tram at Broadbeach, and the 760 to the airport every 30 minutes, so weekend trips and visitors are easy. Gold Coast Airport, four kilometres away, has direct flights to most Australian capitals and to New Zealand. If you do bring a car, one free space is included and street parking is free.
Staying fit
Run the beach south to Currumbin Rock and Elephant Rock and back, about four kilometres of sand. Swim between the flags, or paddle the creek. Currumbin Alley Surf School runs six-week programs four times a year, starting around February, April, July and October, for anyone who wants to finally learn.
Rates for longer stays
Our booking engine prices up to the standard calendar; for a fortnight or longer, call or email us and we will quote a weekly or monthly direct rate. The $95 cleaning fee applies once per stay, there are no booking fees, and we can arrange mid-stay cleans and linen changes.
